About us

Ten Caats Edinburgh is a brand formed in 2018 with the intention of allowing you to reminisce about the salad days of your football-following life. Based in Edinburgh and heavily influenced by Scottish football in the 1990s, we aim to celebrate the iconic players, managers, teams, kits and moments that helped you fall in love with the game. We recognise that football has evolved over the years and will continue to do so, but nothing beats casting your mind back to how it used to be when you first started watching the game as a starry-eyed kid, whether in the 1950s, the 70s, the 90s or even the Noughties.

With the aid of your recollections and reflections on our social media channels, we aim to deliver thoughtfully-designed products that strike a chord with those who love to wallow in football nostalgia. Much of our output will revolve around Scottish football, but we will head to all corners of Europe and beyond in order to ensure everyone - regardless of where they are from or which level of football they follow - gets the chance to indulge their sentimental side with us.  

We have two key principles with regard to our products, with the first being simply that they are of the highest-possible quality. We pride ourselves on predominantly using UK suppliers in order to support local businesses and have travelled the length and breadth of the country in order to source the highest-calibre manufacturing options. Our launch products, for instance, are exclusively made in Scotland, and the luxury feel of our pure lambswool accessories is impossible to miss from the moment you unwrap them.   

Secondly, we aim to ensure there is a meaningful story behind our products, with input from those close to or at the centre of the narrative crucial to bringing a sense of authenticity. Using the insight and reflections of relevant players, managers and journalists - which have been given exclusively to Ten Caats Edinburgh - we have specially-made postcards to accompany each of our launch products.

We would like to express gratitude to Hans Gillhaus, Lorenzo Minotti, Sasa Papac and Enrico Annoni for giving us their blessing to use their names, and to other former footballers Paul Ritchie, Kevin Thomson, Kevin Harper, Craig Burley and Alan Stubbs, as well as respected journalists Gabriele Marcotti and Michael Grant, for their contributions to our launch range. 

Although we are in no way affiliated to any particular football club or association, the key thing from our perspective is that the visual impact of our products, allied to the effort we have gone to in order to tell the story behind them, serves to trigger fond footballing memories and deliver a feeling of warmth - both literally and metaphorically - for anyone who chooses to buy them.
